Interventional radiologists perform minimally invasive procedures for both diagnostics and treatment, to guide instruments through the body to the affected area. Jefferson's Interventional Radiology Division consists of full-time faculty members, physician assistants and specifically trained nursing and technology personnel.
Facilities include four angiographic procedure rooms, a dedicated interventional CT scanner with integrated fluoroscopy and several high-end ultrasound units. The Division has an admitting service and an active clinic.
The Division was the first institution in the country to use vascular stents clinically and has extensive experience in endovascular procedures for treatment of all types of vascular disease. It has maintained a proactive approach to leading-edge procedures and therapies.
