When to Call JeffSTAT
JeffSTAT's services should be summoned when time is critical and/or when an advanced level of medical expertise is needed. This includes:
- Unconsciousness
- Shock
- Head injury with decreased consciousness
- Chest trauma with respiratory distress
- Penetrating injuries to the body cavity
- Multisystems trauma
- Definitive airway control needed
- Amputations proximal to the hand or foot
- Burns to the face or over 10 percent of the body
- High-risk obstetrics
- Neonatal and pediatric emergencies
- Time-dependent cardiac intervention
- Physiologic monitoring (A-line, Swanz-Ganz or ICP)
- Fetal monitoring
- Advanced pharmacological intervention, including antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, paralytics, sedatives and narcotics
- External life-support devices, including ventilators, pacemakers, intra-aortic balloon pumps and ventricular assist devices (VADs)
