Cancer Care
Our cancer specialists are part of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, a National Cancer Institute
(NCI)-designated cancer center. On the Methodist campus, you have access to:
Emergency Services
The Emergency Department at Methodist is staffed by Jefferson emergency medicine
physicians experienced in the rapid identification and treatment of stroke,
chest pain and other medical emergencies, including trauma. Five Fast Track rooms are designated for the diagnosis and care of relatively routine emergencies.
A Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is located outside of the ED on the 5th floor. Managed by hospitalists, the CDU is able to monitor and evaluate patients who come through the ED and determine if that patient needs to be admitted to the Hospital or safely discharged.
Orthopedics
Methodist is home to the Shoulder and Elbow Center, staffed by leading specialists in the region. Your surgery will be performed in superior operating room (OR) suites, fully equipped with the latest technologies for each orthopedic subspecialty.
Cardiology
Our team of experts are highly skilled in treating patients with congestive heart failure, coronary disease, hypertension, lipid disorders, peripheral artery disease and valvular heart disease.
- Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation: Offering the only outpatient program in South Philadelphia, our nationally certified Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation is a community-based, monitored cardiovascular wellness program helping patients transition back to a normal, active life following a cardiac event or procedure.
- Vascular Center: Provides comprehensive patient care for the diagnosis, management, treatment and prevention of vascular diseases (diseases of the blood vessels) and thrombotic (blood-clotting) disorders, as well as complex vascular wounds.
- Wound Care and Hyperbaric Program: A component of the Jefferson Vascular Center, the Wound Care Program provides comprehensive patient care for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of chronic vascular wounds, such as surgical wounds that have not healed properly, diabetic ulcers, and unusual wounds. Our staff is well qualified and especially equipped to provide crucial processes essential for wound healing, such as wound debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and compression therapy.
We also place a strong emphasis on preventative care, working with patients to avert the onset of heart disease in those at risk, and to lower the risk of recurrent disease in those with a history of cardiovascular ailments.
