How affective is food (nutrition) on lung cancer, i.e. Sun's Soup, and how can one get a personalized diet for their nutritional type and disease?
Academic Title: Associate Professor
Food and nutrition are used to strengthen and support the cancer patient, but not to treat the cancer itself. The latter requires oncological care.
A low inflammatory, nutrient dense, plant-based diet may be helpful during survivorship and may reduce risk factors for some types of cancer recurrence. However, during the acute stages of cancer treatment, the focus often is getting enough calories and it is important to keep your oncologist informed of dietary habits and caloric intake.
