I often have insomnia, lying awake for hours thinking about what happened that day or the meeting with my boss tomorrow. I don’t like taking sleeping pills and wonder if there other things I can do to get some sleep?
Research has shown that practicing mindfulness can reduce insomnia and that some of the basic practices that we learn in MBSR – mindfulness-based stress reduction – like breath awareness are highly effective in helping people get a better night’s rest.
