About Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery at Jefferson

At Jefferson, our surgeons, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals provide a full range of surgical specialties. More and more patients have surgery without ever staying in a hospital overnight. These outpatient surgeries now make up almost two-thirds of all surgeries.

If you do need to stay overnight after your surgery, we will make sure that you are comfortable as you begin to recover.

Surgery Schedule

Please be aware that we try to have you go to surgery at your scheduled time, but due to unforeseen circumstances, your surgery may be delayed. We will make every effort to keep you informed of any change in the time of your surgery.

You should plan to spend about 8 hours on the day of your surgery, from the time you check in to after discharge.
