Is my family history relevant to my risk of developing breast cancer?
Yes, but there are other factors, too. Increasing age and being a woman are the biggest risk factors for developing breast cancer.
When you review your family history, it’s important to include your father’s side of the family. Breast (and other) cancer risk can be passed from the mother’s or father’s side of the family.
