I have Ocular Melanoma (enucleation 2000) and Breast Cancer (2008). Can they be related or connected? How common could this be?

There is very little known about an association between ocular melanoma and breast cancer. There is a small association between melanoma (generally skin) and breast cancer in patients with BRCA-2 mutations. If there is other family history of breast cancer, genetic testing may be considered. However, because the prevalence of breast cancer is so high (up to one in seven women in the US), most of these cases are not related or connected.
