Every few months I have an attack of diverticulitis. My doctor prescribed antibiotics to be taken for 5 consecutive days. I have these on standby. Recently I have been having intermediate discomfort in that area. Should I be concerned. I had my last colonoscopy two years ago. I am 68 years old.

Diverticulitis alone does not increase the risk for colon cancer.  However, any concern should be discussed with your doctor.
