I just had my first colonoscopy and the doctor found two polyps, both of which were benign. Should I have colonoscopies more frequently now?

If, during your colonoscopy, your doctor found two small polyps and the pathology returned benign (often hyperplastic polyps), you will not need more frequent colonoscopies. If your pathology from the polyps removed reveals tubular adenomas or other types of polyps that have the potential to turn into malignancy, you will need colonoscopies at more frequent intervals.
