My mother went for her first chemotherapy treatment last Tuesday and by Thursday, she was really wiped out and in pain. She couldn’t walk or swallow. Are there medications that could help her tolerate the chemo better?

Symptoms from chemotherapy depend on a number of factors, including the specific type of chemotherapy. For the most part, chemotherapy is usually tolerated well. Any side effects should be discussed with the doctor and staff.  Second opinions may be very helpful.
