Without a colonoscopy, is there any way for me to know if I have colon polyps?

Other methods of identifying polyps include flexible sigmoidoscopy (only assessing part of the colon) and radiologic tests such as double contrast barium enemas or CT colonography. That said, colonoscopy is the gold standard for screening and has the added benefit of enabling physicians to remove polyps before the develop into cancer.
