For the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes and its acute and chronic complications, this center offers multidisciplinary care coordinated closely with the referring physician. Medical management is supervised by specialists in endocrinology and metabolic diseases who consult with ophthalmologists, nephrologists, podiatrists, neurologists and obstetrician/gynecologists as needed. Instruction in diabetic self-care and diet management is also provided by certified diabetes nurse-educators and registered nutritionists with special interest in diabetes.
