The Jefferson Digestive Disease Institute Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center is on the premises of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and in immediate proximity to the physician's office. The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit is the busiest academic endoscopy unit on the east coast performing more than 13,000 endoscopic procedures per year. A full spectrum of diagnostic and advanced therapeutic procedures are offered including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, enteroscopy, photodynamic therapy, stricture dilation, endoluminal stent placement, argon plasma coagulation, endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic sewing, and capsule endoscopy.
