The Transfusion Unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital provides blood and blood components for transfusion for elective
and emergent surgical procedures, traumas, and routine therapeutic transfusions.
The Transfusion Unit is responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of blood and blood components to meet the needs
of the hospital and the community.
Testing includes pre-admission testing for elective surgical procedures, pre-natal testing, and antibody identification.
Blood Donor Center
The Blood Donor Center collects blood from volunteer, autologous and directed donors.
