Established in the mid 1980s, the Methodist Hospital Foundation raises funds for the betterment of the South Philadelphia community. It has provided grants to community organizations – including the Caring Paws Home Visitation program, which helps elderly, homebound South Philadelphians, and the Unity Clinic, which serves non-English speaking immigrants.
Working in collaboration with Methodist Hospital, the Foundation empowers numerous grassroots organizations by providing them with the resources they need to offer home care, elder care, pastoral care and family and children’s services that unite our diverse neighborhoods and keep them strong.
The Foundation also funds projects at Methodist to help the hospital continue to serve the community. In 2006, the Foundation assisted in the hospital’s acquisition of Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) technology for the Women’s Diagnostic Center. The donation enabled Methodist to become one of the first hospitals in the country to offer the new tool for the early detection of breast cancer.
Methodist Hospital has been caring for South Philadelphia since 1892. For a physician or referral, please call 1-800-JEFF-NOW, or use the online appointment request form. To schedule tests or procedures, call 215-952-1234. |
