Mammography

Woman Getting MammogramThe Methodist mammography program is accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our new mammography units provide much clearer pictures, better magnification of breast tissue, and better positioning of the breast so smaller cancers can be detected. And when abnormal tissue is found, our radiologists can take a "core biopsy" in which a tiny piece of tissue is extracted from the breast. No stitches, no hospital stay, and virtually pain free. This procedure often eliminates the need for a traditional, in-patient biopsy in the operating room. In most cases, patients receive the results of their mammogram before leaving.
