Nuclear Camera

Methodist Hospital's new GE Insignia Hawkeye nuclear camera is providing new clarity on patient health.

The new camera features unique "attenuation correction" technology that produces exceptionally clear views of organs that are normally more difficult to see because of their close location to other organs. The technology helps focus on the organ needing evaluation, while reducing interference from surrounding organs. Additional benefits of the new camera include the addition of a second head, which increases speed and image resolution, and increased capacity that allows faster studies.

Located in the nuclear medicine unit on Methodist Hospital's second floor, imaging studies using the new nuclear camera are performed by licensed physicians who work with certified technicians. The team is supported by physicists and pharmacists to ensure maximum safety.
