Community Health Fair at Methodist Hospital
Good Health and Fun in South Philadelphia!
Annual May 1 event features free health screenings and
entertainment
Bring the kids and family for an educational, fun-filled
Saturday at Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia. There
will be plenty of games and a variety of health screenings
for everyone.
The annual Methodist Hospital Health Fair on Saturday, May
1, runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is a full day of free fun,
health education and entertainment.
Entertainment will include the Avalon String Band, a childrens
talent show and a presentation by Tom Pizzi and the Court
Jester. Family activities include balloon sculpture, cookie
decorating, face painting, pictures with Sponge Bob Square
Pants and Dora the Explorer and much more.
Health screenings include cholesterol and glucose screening;
head, neck and mouth evaluations; foot exams; PSA testing
to determine prostate cancer risk; and blood pressure checks
by health professionals from Methodist and Thomas Jefferson
University Hospitals.
A special breast screening and mammography program is being
offered for underinsured or uninsured women. Advance registration

Advance registration is also necessary for glaucoma screening

WGOL - Radio personality Bob Pantano will tape throughout
the day for Happenings, his television program.
