Methodist Hospital Sponsors “South Philly Night” at Campbell’s Field

With summer rapidly approaching it is time to get back outside and enjoy the season. Nothing says summer like a baseball game.

Join the Methodist Hospital family as the Camden Riversharks take on the Long Island Ducks, Wednesday, June 9, at 6 p.m. Methodist Hospital will sponsor the second annual "South Philly Night" at Campbell's Field, Delaware River at 401 North Delaware Avenue, Camden, N.J.

In addition to providing a great ball game, at "South Philly Night" some of South Philadelphia's most famous athletes will be honored. They are: world champion boxer Joey Giardello; Bobby Petrella of the Miami Dolphins; Charles Ferrante of the Baltimore Orioles; Ollie Johnson of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Portland Trailblazers; John Marzano of the Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners; George Riley of the Chicago Cubs and the Montreal Expos; Frank Dimichele of the California Angels; Mike Koplove of the Arizona Diamondbacks; Isaiah "Bunny" Wilson of the Detroit Pistons; Frank Costa, QB from Miami University; Tommy DiMuzio of the University of Delaware; George Lattera of the Cincinnati Reds; Ed Braceland of the University of Delaware; Hall of Fame Basketball player John Smith; and legendary coach of Southeast Catholic and Bishop Newman High School Paul Bartolomeo. Master of ceremonies Bob Pantano will host a 6 p.m. on-field ceremony honoring the athletes.

Following the game there will be a fireworks display. Methodist Hospital will offer free giveaways; the game will begin with Desiree Sassano from Gamp High School singing the national anthem.

A portion of each ticket price benefits the Women's Diagnostic Center at the Methodist Hospital Division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
