Community Health Fair at Methodist Hospital Saturday, May 7

(Published 04-27-2005)  Methodist Hospital’s annual Health Fair will be on Saturday, May 7, and combines free health screenings for adults as well as activities for the family. Health screenings will include blood pressure screening, prostate cancer PSA testing, foot screening, glucose and cholesterol screening and more. Family activities will include pictures with cartoon characters, balloon sculptures and face painting. Starting at 10 a.m., the Hospital will host DJ Harry Brown, Jr., as well as a children’s talent show at 10:30 a.m., the Avalon String Band at noon and a Methodist employee talent show at 2 p.m. WOGL radio personality Bob Pantano will feature the event on his television show Happenings as well as welcome Tom Pizzi and the Court Jesters at 1 p.m. Advance registration is required for stroke risk assessment by calling 1-800-JEFF-NOW and for mammograms by calling 215-952-9148. The event will be held at Methodist Hospital in South Philadelphia at Broad and Wolf Streets, Wolf Street entrance.
