Combining three names you know and trust – The Rothman Institute, Jefferson and Methodist – the Jefferson Shoulder and Elbow Center is the largest, most experienced program in the Delaware Valley dedicated to the surgical treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions.

Each year, we perform the most total shoulder and elbow joint replacements in the Philadelphia region. Every procedure – from arthroscopy and minimally invasive rotator cuff repair to dislocation and fracture surgery – is performed in the Center’s new, technologically superior surgical suites by Rothman Institute at Jefferson specialists who are internationally known in their fields.

The Center’s anesthesia team is a national leader in acute pain management for shoulder and elbow procedures. Specializing in ultrasound-guided upper extremity regional nerve blocks, the team provides patients with prolonged pain relief, while allowing for a more rapid emergence from general anesthesia and fewer side effects.

Before and after surgery, outpatients are cared for by dedicated Center nurses and staff. Inpatients remain on a designated unit in spacious rooms with around-the-clock care from the Center’s highly rated nursing and therapy team.

Patients can be seen at three convenient office locations for diagnosis and/or non-surgical treatment (Center City, Voorhees, and King of Prussia).
