Comprehensive Epilepsy Center
Appointments
Office hours are by appointment only. If you need to cancel an appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance. This
will allow us to offer the appointment time to another patient. If you are substantially late, it may be necessary to reschedule
your appointment.
Referrals must be presented at the time of your visit to avoid having your appointment rescheduled.
Payment including managed care co-pays for all office visits are due at the time of service.
New Patient Appointments
If you have never been seen at the Jefferson Comprehensive Epilepsy Center or if you haven’t been seen in over three years,
you are considered a new patient. To schedule a new patient appointment, call 215-955-4624. Upon scheduling an appointment,
you will be required to schedule an EEG, obtain your medical records and complete a packet of information to bring with you
at the time of your visit. Also, you will be obligated to obtain a referral if your insurance company requires you to do so.
At the time of your visit, please bring to the office your EEG results, medical records, new patient information, insurance
card and your referral if required. You should also be prepared to pay a co-pay at this time if your insurance calls for it.
Teaching
Thomas Jefferson Hospital is a teaching hospital and your appointment may be scheduled with a Fellow and a staff physician.
A Fellow is a fully trained neurologist and licensed physician gaining additional experience in a specialized field, for example
Neurology/Epilepsy. If you have any questions about this arrangement, feel free to discuss them with any of our office staff.
Billing & Insurance
Jefferson Comprehensive Epilepsy Center participates with many insurance plans. Please check with our staff if you have any
questions about your insurance. Referrals must be presented at the time of your visit. Please notify us if your insurance
has changed since your last visit.
