Gastroenterologist Michael C. DiMarino, M.D., MMS, Joins Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Michael C. DiMarino, M.D., MMS, has joined the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital.
Dr. DiMarino will see patients at the division’s Center City office at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Board-certified in internal medicine, his research interests include diseases of the lower esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux
disease (GERD) and capsule endoscopy for small intestinal disease.
Dr. DiMarino received a bachelor of arts degree in molecular biology from Princeton University in 1992. He then attended Hahnemann
University where he earned a master of medical science degree in 1994. He received a doctor of medicine degree in 1998 from
Hahnemann University School of Medicine. Dr. DiMarino completed his residency in internal medicine in 2001 and fellowship
in gastroenterology and hepatology in 2004 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
The Philadelphia Society of Gastroenterology honored Dr. DiMarino with its Komarov Prize in 2002 for his paper “Development
of a New Clinical Agent, a Beta3 Adrenergic Agonist, for Gastrointestinal Sphincteric Inhibition.” He has published in journals
such as Resident and Staff Physician and Gastroenterology.
