Thomas Jefferson University Names New Board of Trustees Chair
Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) announced the election of Brian G. Harrison as Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Harrison has been a trustee of Thomas Jefferson University since his election in 1984. He has served in many Board leadership
positions including vice chair of the TJU Board, chair of the Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals (TJUH) Board, and also
as a member of the Jefferson Health System (JHS) Board.
Mr. Harrison brings to the position an extensive business background that includes many years as president of the Franklin
Mint and, more recently, as an investor and consultant to a variety of local companies. He is currently majority owner of
SmokeStoppers, a leader in smoking cessation for more than twenty years.

research and patient care. Brian and I have worked together for many years. He brings a strong combination of experience,

spirit, will advance our ability to thoughtfully consider the many opportunities and challenges facing Jefferson.”
Thomas Jefferson University is composed of three schools—Jefferson Medical College, the Jefferson College of Graduate Studies
and the Jefferson College of Health Professions. The three colleges enroll nearly 2,300 future physicians, scientists and
health-care professionals.
Mr. Harrison and his wife, Maureen, live in Newtown, Pa.
