Jefferson’s Kimmel Cancer Center Hosts Fifth Annual Celebration of Life for Cancer Survivors
More than 100 cancer survivors and their families will celebrate their lives in music and art at the fifth annual “Celebration
of Life” gathering on Wednesday, May 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The "Celebration of Life," hosted by Jefferson’s Kimmel Cancer
Center, honors the lives and accomplishments of all cancer survivors. The celebration will be held in Room 101 in the Bluemle
Life Sciences Building, on the campus of Thomas Jefferson University, 233 S. 10th St., Philadelphia.
This year’s Celebration will feature an interactive health expo where guests will have the opportunity to obtain information
and ask questions of the staff from the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, genetic counselors, clinical
trials specialists, representatives from community organizations serving people with cancer and their families and many other
experts. The event will also feature an exhibit of art and poetry by cancer survivors and family members and a photo and story
exhibit by and for people facing cancer.
The gathering will also feature inspirational talks by cancer survivors and keynote speaker radiation oncologist P. Rani Anne,
M.D., instructor in Radiation Oncology, Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, who will discuss “Finding
Hope in the Face of Cancer.”
