Hours Expanded Due to Patient Demand In order to meet the growing patient demand for complementary and integrative medical care, the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine is offering Saturday morning patient hours. Patients will be able to make appointments to see practitioners from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

“More and more of our patients expressed the desire to come in on Saturday,” said Marc S. Micozzi, M.D., Ph.D., executive director of Integrative Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. “Many of our patients are working women who prefer not to take time out of their busy work week.”

During the new Saturday hours, Birgit Rakel, M.D., a Center physician will be available for patients who seek integrative medical care, along with practitioners who offer integrative psychology, massage therapy, acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Patients will have the opportunity to see multiple specialists in one day.

“This increased demand for complementary and integrative medical care is evidence of the growing popularity of the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine,” said Ira Brind, a founder of the Center and chairman of the Board of Trustees, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. “We are gratified by the interest and happy to see the Center expand the services offered to help people feel well and achieve vitality and greater health.”

The Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine has a leading role in the research, evaluation and integration of promising complementary approaches to healing.
