Today’s Woman: Her Health, Her Life, Her Spirit - A Celebration
Special Day at Jefferson--Saturday, April 23, Free Seminars, Health Screenings and Give-aways
An exciting one-day event designed especially to meet the needs of women will be held Saturday, April 23, at Thomas Jefferson
University. This special day entitled “Today’s Woman: Her Health, Her Life, Her Spirit--A Celebration” will feature seminars,
health screenings, health booths and much more. This inspiring and motivational day is free and open to the public.
“Today’s Woman is a great event for women of all ages and experience,” said chairperson Mary Bouchaud, MSN, CNS, R.N., CRRN,
community clinical coordinator, Department of Nursing, Jefferson College of Health Professions. “This program provides a great
opportunity for Philadelphia women to enjoy a free day filled with information about health and wellness.”
“Today’s Woman” is sponsored by the Jefferson College of Health Professions Department of Nursing in conjunction with Women’s
Health Source at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Jefferson’s Women’s Health Source serves as a comprehensive women’s
health information center for the community.
In addition to talks by physicians and health professionals from Jefferson University Hospital, highlights of “Today’s Woman”
include an inspirational speech to open the day by author and radio personality Dr. Lucille Ijoy. Representatives of health
and human service organizations and Jefferson College of Health Professions nursing students will provide information, health
screenings and services at the all-day health fair. ShopRite, presenting sponsor of “Today’s Woman,” will provide continental
breakfast and lunch. Highlights of the health fair include blood pressure, cholesterol and osteoporosis screenings.
