“Cancer and Fertility” Workshop for Young Adult Cancer Survivors at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson
The Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson will hold a workshop for young adults with cancer on Thursday, May 5, as part of a new
support program, Navigating the New Normal.
“Cancer and fertility” will be presented from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Jefferson’s Bluemle Life Science Building, 233 S. 10th
St., Room 105, Philadelphia. Refreshments and free parking will be provided.
During the workshop, Lindsay Nohr Beck, founder and executive director of Fertile Hope, will discuss a number of fertility
options that exist for men and women both before and after treatment. This program will provide information about reproductive
risks and parenthood options, helping to empower individuals to make educated decisions. Networking and discussion among
participants will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Thanks to a grant from the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Kimmel Cancer Center’s Navigating the New Normal offers a comprehensive
psychosocial support and education program to help young adult cancer survivors between the ages of 18 to 40 navigate the
“new normal” that a cancer diagnosis can bring.
