Trauma Surgeon Gary Lindenbaum, M.D., Joins Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Surgeon Gary A. Lindenbaum, M.D., FACS, FCCP, who specializes in trauma and general surgery, has joined the Department of
Surgery of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He has also been named clinical associate professor of Surgery,
Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Lindenbaum previously served as clinical associate professor of surgery at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
He was as an attending surgeon in the trauma and general surgical service at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa.,
where he was director of the division of trauma from 1995 to 1996 and 2001 to 2002, and surgical director of the intensive
care unit from 1990 to 1996. He was an attending surgeon at Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Pa., and Riddle Memorial Hospital,
Media, Pa. From 1989 to 1990, Dr. Lindenbaum was chief of the section of trauma and surgical critical care at St. Vincent’s
Hospital and Medical Center, New York City.
Board certified in surgery and surgical critical care, he is a member of several professional societies including the Eastern
Association for the Surgery of Trauma; Society of Critical Care Medicine; Delaware County Medical Society and the International
Society of Aquatic Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American College of Chest Physicians.
The Philadelphia native completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, where
he also completed a fellowship in traumatology and surgical critical care.
Dr. Lindenbaum received a doctor of medicine degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in 1982 and a bachelor of
arts degree in biology and psychology from the University of Rochester in 1978.
