Physicians at Jefferson’s Children’s Health Center Offer Asthma Education Day
Free Flu Shots for Children with Asthma
WHAT:
A fun-filled educational day for children with asthma to teach them about this all-too-common condition and how to manage
it.
A special highlight will be a live rap performance by No Puff Daddy, a youth health educator and inspirational rap artist,
tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m.

BACKGROUND:
Asthma affects more than 4.8 million children in the United States, making it the most common serious and chronic disease
among children. It is the third most common cause of childhood hospitalization under the age of 15.
Although this is a disease that can be managed, many patients, especially children, do not know how to do so. The booths
and physicians at Asthma Education Day will offer kid-friendly asthma facts, videos, games and vital information about asthma
treatments, peak flow meters, nebulizers and more. Asthmatic children will also receive free flu shots.
Pizza and beverages will be provided.
