Noted Jefferson Rheumatologist, Sergio A. Jimenez, M.D., Honored by Osteoarthritis Research Society International at World
Congress
(Published 12-5-2005) Sergio A. Jimenez, M.D., director, Division of Rheumatology at
Thomas Jefferson University, will be honored with the Osteoarthritis Research Society International’s (OARSI) Basic Science
Award for 2005.
The award is to be presented at the 10th OARSI World Congress on Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Marriott Copley Place, Boston.
Dr. Jimenez will address his peers at the meeting on his latest research.
Jefferson cardiologist offers tips to avoid "Holiday Heart Syndrome"

today are living with some form of heart disease. The only caveat is to be smart--don't let having a "good time" ruin your

Surgeon Bernadette C. Profeta, M.D., Joins Dept. of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
(Published 12-19-2005) Surgeon Bernadette C. Profeta, M.D., has joined the Department of Surgery of Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital, Philadelphia. She has also been named assistant professor of surgery, Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson
University. Her areas of expertise include advanced laparoscopic forgut, colon, solid organ, and bariatric procedures as
well as general surgery.
