Hepatitis C: Learn All About the Epidemic
A free seminar to provide timely and important information to people who suffer from hepatitis C, along with their friends
and families, will be held on Saturday, April 22 , from 8:15 am to 1 pm at Thomas Jefferson University.
“The good news about hepatitis C is that it is often treatable,” says Victor Navarro, M.D., clinical associate professor of
Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.
This event is being offered by the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and
the Delaware Valley Chapter of the American Liver Foundation.
The half-day program will feature presentations from a team of liver experts at
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. They will discuss the following topics and answer questions:
- The basics about hepatitis C and how it affects people
- What to expect when beginning treatment
- The newest treatments for hepatitis C
- The options when treatment is not effective
- Liver transplantation
