Jefferson names new Director of Public Relations
For the first time in nearly a decade, there’s a new person directing the public relations department of Thomas Jefferson
University Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University. Senior Vice President for Marketing, Public Relations and Communications,
Carmhiel J. Brown has announced the selection of Jacqueline Kozloski,
a healthcare communications veteran to fill the post.
“I couldn’t be more energized and eager to work at Jefferson,” said Ms. Kozloski whose most recent position was Director of
Communications at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. “If your job is promoting and publicizing medical achievements and research
breakthroughs, there’s no better place to be than Jefferson.”
At Jefferson, the Director of Public Relations has responsibility for both the University and the Hospital. The office has
been open since long-time director Phyllis M. Fisher accepted a position in New York last November. “We were looking for a
person with deep experience in healthcare PR in an academic setting,” said Ms. Brown. “With Jackie, we also got someone with
an understanding of healthcare policy.”
Ms. Kozloski is a native of the Garden State, in her words “a Jersey girl,” born and reared in Edgewater Park where she lives
today. She is a product of Temple University in Philadelphia, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a
concentration in Public Relations.
Her new position marks a return to Jefferson. In 2000 she worked as the Marketing Communications Manager in the Office of
Health Policy and Clinical Outcomes of Thomas Jefferson University. Before that she worked at West Jersey Health System, The
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and interned at Cooper University Hospital.
Ms. Kozloski is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Public Relations Society of America,
and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. She can be reached through Jefferson’s Public Relations Department
