EVENT:
Richard G. Pestell, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, will be the keynote speaker at Kimmel’s seventh annual “Celebration of Life”.

“Celebration of Life” honors the lives and accomplishments of all cancer survivors. Walter J. Curran, Jr., M.D., Clinical Director of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, Anne L. Rosenberg, M.D., breast surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Chris Dezzi, chairman of Kimmel’s Patient Advocacy and Survivorship Committee and cancer survivor Stan Wortman will be among the other speakers addressing more than 100 survivors and their families.

Guests will enjoy the music of harpist Gloria Gallante while browsing an exhibit of artworks created by those touched by cancer. Refreshments and raffles will be available.

The celebration will also feature an interactive health expo where guests will have the opportunity to obtain information and ask questions of the staff from the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine and health professionals from Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

BACKGROUND:
The Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Clinical Cancer Center, is a collection of the most advanced patient services in a broad range of medical specialties dealing with cancer.
