Patricia Kozuch, M.D. Joins Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Jefferson
To meet the needs of a significant population of patients who suffer from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Patricia L. Kozuch,
M.D., is joining the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University
and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Dr. Kozuch is a specialist in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) which include Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She
joins Jefferson from the University of Chicago Hospitals where she completed an IBD Advanced Fellowship.
She received a bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude with honors in psychology and Phi Beta Kappa in 1991 from Pennsylvania
State University and a doctor of medicine degree in 1999 from Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Kozuch also worked as
a research assistant at both the National Institutes of Mental Health and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the interval
between college and medical school.
Dr. Kozuch completed a residency in internal medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Campus in New York City
in 2002 and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in
the Bronx, N.Y. in 2005.
Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Kozuch is a member of the American Gastroenterolgical Association
and the American College of Gastroenterology. She has presented her research at national meetings and co-authored numerous
journal articles.
