BACKGROUND: "67 Women - 67 Counties” is an educational work of art that celebrates the life, courage, hope and dignity of women and families who have battled breast cancer.  The exhibit is funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and sponsored by the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.

The tribute showcases at least one woman from each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties and serves as a unique reminder of the emotional and physical toll breast cancer takes on each woman and her family.  The exhibit encourages women to learn about and practice early detection through yearly mammograms, monthly breast self-exams, and annual clinical exams.  More than 188,000 women and their families are living with breast cancer in the Commonwealth.  Since 1994, the exhibit has been hosted by over 50 communities and reached millions of Pennsylvanians through the extensive media coverage it attracts.

The Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Clinical Cancer Center, is a collection of the most advanced patient services in every medical specialty dealing with cancer.
