Office of University Counsel at Thomas Jefferson University Names New Legal Advisor
Robert Hunter Taylor, an accomplished attorney in all aspects of employment law, joins Thomas Jefferson University as the
Assistant Counsel for Employment and Commercial Litigation. Mr. Taylor will serve as the legal advisor in the Office of University
Counsel regarding employment and benefits, faculty and student affairs, and commercial and litigation issues.
Before joining Jefferson, Mr. Taylor worked as Senior Attorney and Managing Director for American Airlines, Inc. in Dallas,
Texas, which he joined in 1997. In that position he managed all aspects of the in-house employment law practice, including
preparing and reviewing personnel policies and providing advice on employment law, business ethics and corporate diversity
efforts.
Prior to that position, Mr. Taylor worked as an Associate for the national labor and employment law firm of Littler Mendelson,
P.C. in Los Angeles, California from
1992 to 1996. In that position, he handled traditional labor, employment and education law matters, including sex, race, age
and disability discrimination and wrongful termination litigation.
In 1986, Mr. Taylor earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Princeton University in New Jersey, and in 1992, he
received his Juris Doctorate from the U.C.L.A. School of Law in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Taylor is on the Board of Directors for INROADS Dallas-Fort Worth, an organization that seeks to increase business career
opportunities and knowledge for ethnically diverse students, while giving corporations the chance to expand on their diverse
managerial talent. Mr. Taylor has also been a pro bono attorney at Legal Aid of Northwest Texas since 2000.
