Ground Zero Hair Salons is supporting Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in the development of the new Jefferson Breast Care Center.

Ground Zero, with five outlets in Philadelphia, in partnership with Around Philly.com, will host the Black & White Ball with A Touch of Pink cocktail party to celebrate its 20th anniversary on July 21. Proceeds from the event will go to Jefferson Breast Care Center located 1100 Walnut St. The cocktail party will be held 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the newest Sweat Gym & Ground Zero Center City location at 15th & Arch streets.

Black and white is the required attire for the event, which will “feature some of the best food, drink and entertainment Philadelphia has to offer,” said Wendy Weinstein, President, Ground Zero Salons LLC.

“In honor of our anniversary we decided to throw a party---a big party.  And in keeping with Ground Zero tradition, we decided to make it a benefit,” said Ms.Weinstein. “Ground Zero Salons are proud to announce their support for Jefferson University Hospital’s development of the Jefferson Breast Care Center.

So many of us know someone touched by this horrible disease,” she said “It’s amazing to think that we can actually help Jefferson create a great center for breast care.”

The Black and White Ball will feature a fashion show by Bridal Garden and Warrior Clothing and Reinhard Modeling Agency hosted by Philadelphia Daily News columnist Ronnie Polaneczky, pink dresses designed by students at Moore College of Art and an appearance by members of the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders.

The Jefferson Breast Care Center, currently being developed, will consolidate breast imaging and treatment modalities into a patient-centered facility that is personalized and private, and offers state-of-the-art equipment and mammography specialists. A dedicated staff will also provide patients with information, schedule appointments, arrange for consultative services, and guide patients and their families through their visit when the center is completed. This will allow patients, in a single visit, to consult with multiple physician specialists from various disciplines who will evaluate them and determine a course of treatment. Support services such as nutritionists, social workers, and genetic counselors will also be available on site.

The Center itself will serve as the gateway to Jefferson’s vast cancer resources, practitioners and clinical departments and as a focal point for research. Greater collaboration in genetics, pathology, radiology and other research areas will be attained through the center and the results will be benefit patients, clinicians and researchers of Jefferson’s NCI designated Kimmel Cancer Center. The ability to increase the number of individuals Jefferson can see in the center will benefit patients in solving the complex issues surrounding breast cancer.

Tickets for the Ball, to go on sale June 1, are $100.00 per person and $175.00 per couple.  For more information or to order tickets go to WWW.BLACKANDWHITEBALL2007.COM or call 215-925-4222.
