Orthopaedic Surgeon Pedro Beredjiklian, M.D., has joined the Rothman Institute at Jefferson. Dr. Beredjiklian will head the hand and wrist team. Before coming to Jefferson Dr. Beredjiklian was an associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

“I am very excited to have Dr. Beredjiklian join the Rothman Institute at Jefferson,” said Todd Albert, M.D., chairman, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. “As an internationally known expert in hand and wrist surgery he will be a tremendous asset to our patients.”

Dr. Beredjiklian is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and has earned a Certificate for Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Beredjiklian is an active member of numerous Orthopaedic Societies including the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also on the editorial board for several publications including the Journal of Hand Surgery and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.  Dr. Beredjiklian has authored more than 50 peer reviewed articles and edited three textbooks, in addition to numerous book chapters in the areas of Hand and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Beredjiklian received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York in 1992.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania in 1998.  Dr. Beredjiklian completed his postgraduate training with an internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to serve at the Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell Medical Center in New York as a fellow of Hand and Microvascular Surgery. Upon completing his postgraduate training in 1998, Dr. Beredjiklian was appointed assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania before being promoted to associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2006.

He will see patients in Philadelphia, Voorhees, NJ and Media, PA.
