Kimmel Cancer Center to Host Ball Benefiting Cancer Research

Jefferson's Kimmel Cancer Center will host a ball to honor Edward Glickman, Board of Advisors Chairman, with the Spirit of Commitment Award at the Ritz Carlton of Philadelphia on June 8.
The award is presented to an individual to recognize outstanding commitment to supporting the work of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson through personal and professional contributions dedicated to finding a cure.
Edward Glickman has dedicated his humanitarian activities to improving cancer care. In addition to serving as Chairman of the Kimmel Cancer Center Advisory Board at Jefferson, he is a Board Member of the Temple University Health System and the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He has been a Senior Public Health Fellow at Jefferson University School of Public Health, a founding member of the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health and served on the Governor’s Task Force on Health Care Reform.
“It is an honor to be recognized by the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson with this award and to be part of what will be an extraordinary event recognizing the importance of advancing cancer research and clinical care,” said Mr. Glickman.
Mr. Glickman is Clinical Professor of Finance and the Executive Director of the Center for Real Estate Finance Research at NYU’s Stern School of Business. He is also the Executive Chairman of FG Asset Management, US and a Senior Advisor with Econsult Solutions, Inc.
Prior to joining the faculty of NYU, he had a thirty year career in real estate and financial services serving as President, COO and Trustee of the Pennsylvania REIT, EVP and CFO of Presidential Realty Corporation, and as an investment banker with Smith Barney and Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Glickman is a graduate of the Management and Technology program at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Bioengineering from the College of Engineering and Applied Science. He also holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Mr. Glickman lives with his wife Diana Keat in Merion and they have two grown children, Eric and Alex.
Richard Pestell, M.D., Ph.D., FACP, director of Jefferson’s Kimmel Cancer Center, will present the Spirit of Commitment award.
“This award from the Kimmel Cancer Center recognizes those rare individuals whose dedication and support to the center have been exceptional,” said Dr. Pestell. “It is a great pleasure to present the Spirit of Commitment award to Mr. Glickman, who has motivated and empowered others in this cause throughout his career.”
Chairpersons include Morris and Sarita Gocial and Jerome Muchnick, along with Honorary Co-Chairpersons Sidney and Caroline Kimmel.
