Jennifer Jasmine Arfaa named Chief Patient Experience Officer

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals has named Jennifer Jasmine E. Arfaa, Ph.D., Chief Patient Experience Officer. She was previously Director of Service Improvement and Volunteer Services.
In this new position, Jasmine will be responsible for the leadership, design and implementation of initiatives that fulfill the mission and vision of the Jefferson patient experience: to promote a culture of patient-centered care which emphasizes outstanding service excellence and compassion.
She will oversee the departments of Service Improvement, Volunteer Services, Patient Services, Patient Information, the Family Surgical Reception Areas, the Gift Shop and the organization's new reward and recognition program, "All-STAR." She will report to Chief Operating Officer, Richard Webster, RN, MSN.

In her previous role, Jasmine successfully improved our HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) scores measuring patients' perceptions of their hospital experience and is consistent and unwavering in her kindness, empathy and caring for patients and colleagues.”
Before joining Jefferson in 2008, Dr. Arfaa was a Performance Improvement Specialist at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, where she also completed her Administrative Residency.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Biology from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland and earned her Masters of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University. In 2011, Jasmine completed her Doctorate in Philosophy for Organizational Leadership and Development at The University of Maryland.
She was most recently the recipient of the Regent Award for Early Career Healthcare Executive by the Healthcare Leadership Network of the Delaware Valley, Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
