Jefferson Involvement in Free Clinic and ER Physician Highlighted on KYW Newsradio

A group of volunteer doctors and nurses from Drexel and Jefferson Hospital have teamed up to provide free medical care to the uninsured every Wednesday evening at a church in Chinatown.

Dr. Wayne Bond Lau, a physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Jefferson, explains "The clinic's mission is to try to help as many people as we can. We see anywhere from 35 to 45 people in the span of about four hours. We take a lot of walk-in patients and they can have anything from heart attacks to strokes" in a recent interview with KYW Newsradio.
