Cesarean section steps
Fascia After cutting through the mother’s skin and subcutaneous fat layers, the fascia is opened.
Fascia separated from underlying rectus muscles
Peritoneal cavity is entered. Bladder blade is placed, helping to expose the uterus
Bladder flap is made by incising lower uterine serosa, allowing the bladder to be pushed below the operative area
Low transverse uterine incision made with a scalpel
Uterine cavity is entered with bulging membranes protruding
Uterine incision is spread bluntly
A hand is inserted below the baby’s head to elevate and direct it through the uterine incision
Baby’s head delivered through the incision with a nuchal cord wrapped around its neck
Body delivered by applying pressure to the mother’s abdomen

1 - 29 year old women - 7 weeks gestation with ectopic pregnancy seen during laparoscopy.

2 - Electrocauterized scissors used to perform linear salpingostomy to open fallopian tube containing ectopic pregnancy.

3 - After opening fallopian tube with electrocauter, irrigation was used to flush out ectopic pregnancy.
