The faculty in this Division have expertise in treating women with both premalignant and malignant conditions of the reproductive
organs. Those most commonly encountered conditions include ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers as well as such precancerous
changes as may be seen in women with abnormal pap smears. The faculty also provide care for women at higher than usual risk
for gynecologic cancer based upon a personal history, e.g. breast cancer, or a hereditary syndrome.
The Divisional faculty are members of the Kimmel Cancer Center and often collaborate with other cancer specialists, especially
the radiotherapists. The Division participates as Principal Investigators with the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), the national
cooperative research organization for investigating new therapeutic approaches.
