The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University is devoted to patient care, residency education
and research. The department provides state-of-the-art care from the reconstruction of the maxillofacial region associated
with tumor surgery and trauma to the correction of dentofacial deformaties.
Other areas of expertise include treatment and diagnosis of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, implantology, trauma surgery
and microneurosurgery.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is a four year program
with a medical degree option. Research is directed toward clinical trials and the study of diseases of the oral mucosa and
supporting structures.
