education and research. The department is recognized in the Delaware Valley as a leader in each of its subspecialties: adult
hip and knee reconstruction, shoulder surgery, adult knee reconstruction, spinal deformity, scoliosis, spinal cord injury,
sports medicine, foot and ankle reconstruction, shoulder surgery, hand surgery and rehabilitation, trauma surgery and pediatric
orthopedics. The department is also a national leader in spinal surgery, as part of Jefferson's Regional Spinal Cord Injury
Center.
