A Range of Alternatives for Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery
Jefferson University Hospital is one of the few academic medical centers in the country with a center devoted solely to plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. The Jefferson Center for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides medical and dental evaluation, counseling and management for problems of appearance, injury and tumors. We have a special focus in elective cosmetic surgery and skin resurfacing, including scar revisions.

Head and neck surgeons at Jefferson University Hospital provide a complete range of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery services. We collaborate often with colleagues from oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as with our associates in the Oculoplastics Division at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital. A team approach is necessary to assist patients who have certain congenital deformities or those who may have experienced a facial trauma resulting from an accident or injury.

We are also on call for Jefferson University Hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center to respond when emergencies arise involving patients with facial injuries.

Elective Services for a Better You
For patients who seek cosmetic services to improve their overall appearance, we offer a personalized approach and a full range of options, among them:

  • Rhinoplasty (i.e., “nose jobs”)
  • Rhytidectomy (“face-lifts”)
  • Blepharoplasty (“eyelid-lifts”)
  • Browplasty (“brow-lifts”)
  • Laser skin resurfacing
  • Botox® injections
  • Collagen injections

We strive to make our patients’ experience with cosmetic enhancement a positive one. Our goal is to establish an open, honest rapport, to set realistic goals and to ensure an outcome that meets your expectations.

Understanding the Special Concerns of Patients with Cancer
At Jefferson University Hospital, we understand that certain cancers not only bring concern for our health and well being, but also may sometimes impact how we feel about our personal appearance. That is why, in addition to our cosmetic, congenital and injury-related reconstructive services, we are available to provide consultation to restore appearance and function following cancer surgery.

If you have any questions about how cosmetic or reconstructive surgery may affect your appearance, we are available to sensitively discuss the range of options available to you—options that place your overall health above all else.
