Thomas Jefferson University establishes agreement with the EENT (Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat) Hospital of the Shanghai Medical
University
Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) has established an agreement between TJU and the EENT (Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat) Hospital
of the Shanghai Medical University will give physicians within Jefferson Health System the opportunity to learn about diseases
they do not normally see and, for research, access to specimens it would take years to accumulate here, facilitating the study
of genetics in cancer risk.
The agreement, which was developed through the efforts of William M. Keane, M.D., Professor and Chairman, Otolaryngology-Head
and Neck Surgery, Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, and Jay L. Rothstein, Ph.D., Assistant Professor
of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and Assistant Professor, Microbiology and Immunology, Jefferson Medical College of
Thomas Jefferson University, and Director, Otolaryngology Research Laboratory, JMC, has the potential to draw patients from
China to JHS-member hospitals, as EENT Hospital is the only specialty surgical hospital in all of China.
