Pancreatic and Related Cancers Surgical Research and Education Fund
Each year, more than 32,000 people are affected by pancreatic cancer nationwide. At Thomas Jefferson University, our team
is finding new ways to diagnose and treat this life threatening disease. Our research will benefit future generations of patients
and their families worldwide.
Dr. Yeo, an internationally renowned leader in his field, joined Jefferson in 2005 to head a multidisciplinary team of clinicians
and scientists in furthering knowledge of pancreatic cancer and related illnesses. His work explores avenues of early detection
- including investigations into genetic, environmental and lifestyle-related links to the disease - and more effective screening
procedures with the aim of maximizing treatment outcomes.
The Jefferson team's research aims to uncover treatments that will be genetically targeted to each individual and will integrate
surgery with oncology, pathology, gastroenterology, pain management, palliative care, genetics and nursing.
We ask you to partner with us as we confront the challenges of pancreatic and related cancers. Your gift will provide support
for Jefferson researchers and clinicians as they advance knowledge by developing innovative techniques for detection, prevention,
and treatment of these cancers. Please join us on this path to discovery.
